A lot of times, AWS is like that Scooby Doo meme where Scooby and Shaggy pull the mask off the bad guy, and it just ends up being EC2. Sagemaker? EC2 with Jupyter. Lambda? Ephemeral EC2. Redshift? DB on a couple EC2s.
