I was just laid off unexpectedly so if anyone knows of any places hiring graphic designers/illustrators in Philadelphia or needs any freelance work done, please let me know! Thanks so much in advance 🤗
Look at @automattic for a good example of sound OSS business execution. They have thousands of competitors using their own software, but is it harming them? It doesn’t look like it. I bet the competition helps them in the long term.
Hey y’all, the time has come!
I’m officially seeking something new now! I’m looking for a leadership and/or management position, one with a team that I can grow and grow with. I’m looking for a company with a demonstrated commitment to inclusion.

The body of your commit message is for the “why”.
INCLUDE THE WHY.
PLEASE ALWAYS INCLUDE THE WHY.
I CAN READ YOUR CODE I NEED TO KNOW WHY YOU DID THAT.
I NEED TO KNOW WHY I DID THAT.
PLEASE TAKE MERCY ON ME, PAST SELF. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY I MADE THESE CHOICES.

A lot of times, AWS is like that Scooby Doo meme where Scooby and Shaggy pull the mask off the bad guy, and it just ends up being EC2. Sagemaker? EC2 with Jupyter. Lambda? Ephemeral EC2. Redshift? DB on a couple EC2s.

So proud to send @billy_penn to a wonderful home at a great Philly institution. There’s a certain symmetry to @billy_penn being the first to launch and the last to be sold, and I’m thrilled that we found such great buyers for all three properties. twitter.com/billy_penn/status/11…
It’s wild to me that
– There were 3.57 billion visits to government websites over the last 90 days
– We know that because it’s public thanks to analytics.usa.gov
– We also have hard data about OS, browser + version, and format data about how Americans are using the web t.co/glBov7Z3P5
It is 4/04 and I am back on my bullshit. Your clever 404 page joke gets really tedious if a user has to repeatedly view it. Be sure to provide actionable information, and a method to contact the dev team to let you know about the error.
Hi, all 7 followers! My team is hiring, feel free to pass along this link if you know a good full-stack web code tweaker: adobe.design/jobs/jobpost-73249/
Allowing the duck to think it’s a big scary monster!
There’s another takeaway here: The next time you get impacted by some legacy code, don’t think to yourself “What were they thinking?!” but instead “What were their assumptions way back then?” It’s a good way to instil empathy for those that came before you.
Can people just post their blog posts on their own sites already?
🎞 This is what First Input Delay (FID) looks like.
The page looks ready, but the main thread is busy, so the browser can’t respond to my clicks.
FID approximates this by measuring the time between the first user interaction w/ page & when the browser actually responds. t.co/3UANd3uyWI
The @archiveteave mirroring of Google Plus has now surpassed 1.2 PETABYTES (1,200 Terabytes). We need to finish it off before April 2 when they close everything down. Please watch the fun at tracker.archiveteam.org/googlepl… and PLEASE RUN YOUR OWN WARRIOR FOR US. We need it badly. t.co/wHRBa6eYTE
