So the moral of the story is designing for the web is hard.
And then I stumble across codepen.io/julesforrest/full/QaB… and I’m just… WOW that is a good use of a grid layout.
Their homepage is so hard to scan and make sense of on desktop. Like a big wall of text. Setting the viewport to 765px or below is much nicer and more approachable.
With the fresh Slate redesign I’m reminded about how the web is such an awkward medium for a grid layout.
Sometimes I find it soothing to take the “Family” out of “Family Circus” cartoons. Minus the family, this cartoon becomes a lovely, contemplative winterscape. t.co/koeSbX9de0

This is why I totally automate paying bills, savings, and pretty much anything financial. Less things to think about.

remember being a child and thinking adults were smart?????????????
@trepmal The back button should still work and take me to where I left off if I click an item and then go back.
@trepmal If i’m browsing through an archive or a photo blog then I think infinite scroll makes a lot of sense. I don’t want to have to stop and click the next page. I want to keep hunting for what I’m looking for.
@trepmal See the solution section of tumbledry.org/2011/05/12/screw_h…
Generally anytime infinite scroll is used and you can’t tell it’s loading more things (no catching up to the bottom of the page or not seeing a loader icon)
If you run any kind of help/support forum and you’re considering moving to Slack instead, please don’t. Losing your public searchable archive is a huge mistake and a backward step for usability and the open web.
