@hakimel @revealjs Amazing! Thanks for all the work you do on this. I’ve been using reveal.js for close to a decade now.
@DanielleAlberti @twi_age Yea me too. I didn’t tweet that!
🤯 Basecamp is building a fully-featured, in-browser email client…using a ridiculously small amount of JavaScript. A tiny keyboard shortcut lib, one polyfill, and boring old Stimulus/Turbolinks/Rails…
🙏 to @dhh for generously shipping source maps, amazing learning resource t.co/IEAvwjiKeO
@_swanson @barelyknown @dhh Wow so Hey’s JS distribution is smaller than the base React, React Router, and Redux libraries are. They’re shipping a full product with less weight than an empty React project carries.
@jgarber @jaredcunha Our family was hit with a strong bug in December and I would be curious to know if my body has built up antibodies.
New post: The Cost of JavaScript Frameworks timkadlec.com/remembers/2020-04-…
Using @HTTPArchive data to get a sense of the performance cost (in both bytes & main thread time) of using various popular frameworks as a starting point
Been working on this one for an embarrassingly long time
@richard_tabor @Rmmmsy does
@alexkorban @luca_mug Fair. CSS has been around for almost 25 years and asked to do a lot of different things in the browser.
Hi @wmata! Thanks for all you’re doing to help essential workers get to work. My son ADORES Metro and has collected the Cherry Blossom visitor guide each year. Is there any way he can get a 2020 edition? We understand why you pulled them & promise we won’t try to go! t.co/SASc5UjYA7
Got this rad coaster from @WordCampSATX as a speaker gift
@taupecat @OrangeCatLoki I feel like cats are more likely to learn Ruby on Rails and point their noses down on PHP developers
@Smutchings @martinjewiss it’s okay I’ve been doing this for years and every time I start a new project I think about how I’m going to do things differently
@bpeebles @NestleUSA Have you seen cereal boxes that have barcodes all the way from top to bottom on one side.
@kingkool68 Do what works, fuck the haters, and get better at it. Use a CSS preprocessor. Abuse pointer-events when you need to, then try to fix it later. Inline SVG is cool. Tables do get a bad rap, but have you heard about our Lord and Savior, flexbox?
@kingkool68 1. In own files (not css-in-js)
2. Component or view-specific. use libs to help specificity on more complex projects.
3. Scss / less
4. Haven’t tried css variables yet! (tho syntax looks 🤮)
5. Table, grid, flex all have their place
6. No content-in-css
@plugish You mean @jakemgold doesn’t quiz you weekly on 10up.github.io/Engineering-Best-… ?
The motto of @oneplus is Never Settle which is apparently what you need to do on letting day.
Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh.
But I finally got an order in for a OnePlus Pro 8 in blue.
@seth_atl @OnePlus_USA Both.
