when you try to follow what’s happening in your asynchronous code
tl;dr I’m looking for a FULL-TIME JOB (NYC or healthy remote culture) after 6 years of freelancing! My primary skill is generative user research, but I can also write, teach, facilitate, and learn whatever else you can throw at me.
@MichellePhan This is where I think a lot of young people are today. The problems may not be in habitual notification bells & likes — they may be in an explosion of culture. On the infinite horizon, everything disappears into the background. Cultural interests are becoming cultural exhaustion.
@MichellePhan You used to have to be selective. It wasn’t long ago when choosing the wrong torrent meant a days work was lost. It wasn’t long ago when iPod and cassette constraints forced a ranking bias. Radio used to be something synchronous. Abundance made it disappear into the background.

Another dentist checkup in the books. As her reward she got to pick an item from the treasure box. She happened to pick a sticky, slimy, slug toy. The receptionist says all the little girls pick the slugs. The boys never picked the instagram.com/p/B0pF0xiHz15/

Look at your bodies, duck billed platypus! Webbed feet, fur, and a weird shovel snout nose. God created you for the magnificent job of swimming down underwater and scooping stuff! What can be more important than this?!?! twitter.com/laalex2/status/11561…
When designing a thing I usually think how can I make this work:
– with semantic html without JS
– responsively (small screen first)
– for screen readers users
– for keyboard users
If I manage to do this, I’m usually onto a winner.
@genmon I generally agree but things like Google Docs wouldn’t be possible without it.
This is very nerdy and extremely unfair because I’m sure there must be good reasons for it, BUT:
client-side rendering.
If you are involved in that nonsense in any way then I will judge you.
If you select an element to inspect it on hover in Chrome Dev tools it will show you basic metrics in pixels. This should work for most stuff.

I could use a query string to load a different CSS file that has been compiled with pixel values. But that feels a little over engineered.
I write CSS using rems. Is there an easy way to display the values in pixels in Chrome dev tools?
I’m thinking for designers to tweak values during QA.
